QUESTION
How do I connect my FGD3 Infra-Red sensor to the LC control panel?
ANSWER
What follows is step by step instructions on how to install FGD3 Infra-Red sensors to an LC Control panel.
Hardware setup:
The FGD3 Infra-Red has 3 wires
- Red (Power +Ve)
- Black (Power -Ve)
- Yellow (Signal mA+)
Channel 1 connection
-
Ensure power is disconnected from the system
- Connect the Red +Ve Power wire to Channel 1 pin 15
- Connect the Black -VE Power wire to Channel 1 pin 16
- Connect the Yellow +mA wire to Channel 1 pin 13
- Configure Channel 1 jumper switches J1,J2,J3,J5,J9 to on (closed)
- Configure Channel 1 jumper switches J4, J6, J7, J8 to off (open)
Subsequent sensors can be wired in a similar way:
i.e. Channel 2 connection.
- Connect the Red +Ve Power wire to Channel 2 pin 27
- Connect the Black -VE Power wire to Channel 2 pin 28
- Connect the Yellow +mA wire to Channel 2 pin 25
- Configure Channel 2 jumper switches J1,J2,J3,J5,J9 to on (closed)
- Configure Channel 2 jumper switches J4, J6, J7, J8 to off (open)
Step 3 Software Configuration
- Connect power to the system and ensure detector head operates (text on LCD display, LED will flash once every six seconds approximately).
- All information required for software configuration should be contained in the attached LC Software configuration and system calibration manual, a helpful 'map' of the menu structure can be found on page 4-9
Step 4. System Calibration
- All information required for system calibration should be contained in the attached LC Software configuration and system calibration manual from page 4-16 onwards
